Dear Friends and Supporters of Open Door Theatre,
As the Give Big Gallatin Valley event on May 1st and 2nd, 6 pm to 6 pm, approaches, we want to take a moment to express our heartfelt thanks for the continued support you’ve shown. Because of your generosity, Open Door Theatre has not only endured — it has flourished. For over a decade, your enthusiasm as audience members and donors has kept the spirit of local theatre alive in Bozeman.
Reflecting on 2024:
This year has already been full of exciting performances and partnerships. We were honored to return to the Sweet Pea Festival with the one-act In Your Dreams, written and directed by board member John Larkin. We also teamed up with the Friends of the Story Mansion for The Death of Dr. Pepper, an audience-participation murder mystery by Eileen Moushey. Directed by Valerie Watson, this lively fundraiser was held at — and in support of — the historic Story Mansion.
In the fall, we brought mystery and holiday cheer to life with The Game’s Afoot or Holmes for the Holidays by Ken Ludwig, directed by Peggy Jensen. This production was a resounding success, thanks to your support and enthusiasm for community theatre.
Looking Ahead:
We’re currently planning another thrilling collaboration with the Friends of the Story Mansion — a brand-new audience-participation murder mystery, a potential garden party, and a special holiday season performance to close out the year.
Your Role in Our Story:
As we continue to dream of having our own dedicated venue someday, your support remains absolutely vital. We’re always looking for passionate people to join our journey — whether as board members, directors, actors, writers, costumers, prop creators, or stage crew.
Our goal this year is $3,500, and every donation — no matter the size — helps us bring more theatre, more stories, and more opportunities to our community. Please consider giving during this year’s Give Big Gallatin Valley campaign on May 1st and 2nd.
